Jonathon C.A. Blevins is an associate with Cruser & Mitchell, LLP. Jonathon received dual bachelor degrees from the University of Florida. He received his Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law. While in law school, Jonathon was selected to the Moot Court Honors Program and Trial Advocacy Team. He competed in four national competitions with while participating in the programs. Further, Jonathon was selected as the Chief Justice of the Moot Court Program.
Jonathon began his career as an Assistant State Attorney for the Fifth Judicial Circuit of Florida. As an Assistant State Attorney, Jonathon was responsible for large trial dockets. The dockets consisted over offenses ranging from criminal traffic offenses to first degree felonies, punishable by life. He tried over twenty cases and handled countless adversarial hearings and depositions.
Jonathon then began work at a large firm in Orlando, Florida. As a associate he was responsible for defending individuals facing foreclosures and criminal allegations. While defending foreclosure matters, Jonathon successfully tried cases that resulted in full defense judgments. Further, he helped countless other individuals reach positive results through the use of adversarial hearings and depositions. Jonathon also successfully appealed a circuit court judge in Khan v. Bank of Am., N.A., 58 So. 3d 927 (Fla. 5th DCA. 2011). Additionally, Jonathon managed the criminal defense department within the firm. Jonathon managed staff and attorneys defending individuals accused of a range of offenses.
Besides his dedication to zealously representing clients, Jonathon is active in the community. He is a member of the George C. Young First Central Florida American Inn of Court and Orange County Bar Association. Jonathon also volunteers with the Orange County Teen Court Program, The Florida Law Related Education Association, and coaches Moot Court teams for Barry University School of Law. Jonathon has coached the 2010 and 2011 finalists at the Wechsler First Amendment Competition in Washington, D.C.
At Cruser & Mitchell, Jonathon represents individuals, companies, corporations and insurance companies in state and federal courts. His practice emphasizes the areas of personal injury, premises liability, construction litigation and general liability matters.
