THE DIFFERENCE
Cruser & Mitchell, LLP was founded by J. Robb Cruser and William T. Mitchell, who
were partners at one of the largest defense litigation firms in the
South. After a decade, Robb and Bill left the large firm to pursue their
own vision of
servicing clients.
PURPOSE: TO BE DEDICATED PROBLEM SOLVERS Our attorneys are dedicated problem solvers. We do not view a lawsuit as
an economic opportunity. A lawsuit is a burden to our client- a problem
to be solved. Clients reward us only when we are true to our purpose of
being dedicated problem solvers. Hence, we
handle client's legal needs as if we were spending our own money.
The Right Plan Requires
The Right Litigation Philosophy
The difference between a lawyer marking time and a
lawyer solving problems is innovative thinking. The starting point
is to have a detailed understanding of the client's goals and then prepare and execute a plan
that
achieves those goals. Litigation is not about connecting the dots;
rather, it is about thinking outside the box. Every problem is unique and deserves a fresh look and bold plan to achieve a resolution
that fulfills the client's goals.
PLAN: TO PROVIDE
FRESH
THINKING AND BOLD ACTION TO SOLVE PROBLEMS
Creative thinking and a proactive, "can do" approach
do not happen by accident. At Cruser & Mitchell, LLP, we have
the right plan in place to promote fresh solutions to your
litigation challenges.

The Right Plan Requires Proven Trial Attorneys A law firm can deliver on its purpose only by putting the right
people in the right place: proven trial attorneys who stay put.
Hiring and retention of legal talent is the largest annual expense
for any law firm. The retention of legal talent is not just about
money. Compensation alone will never motivate lawyers to become
dedicated problem solvers. To develop and maintain legal talent, a
law firm must have a culture that encourages fresh thinking and bold action.
Why? Because attorneys who are empowered to act,
rather than merely react, more effectively solve client problems
(i.e.,
our purpose) which in turn brings satisfaction to the lawyer
achieving such results. Within this culture, our attorneys thrive
and are motivated to tackle the client's next problem.
The Right Plan Requires Low Attorney Turnover
Clients cannot be properly served by inexperienced lawyers caught
within a culture of turnover. Some firms have a year-round hiring
and recruiting committee and a nearly 10% attorney turnover rate
built into their business model. Cruser and Mitchell, LLP does not.
Since founded in 2000, Cruser and Mitchell, LLP has
grown almost ten-fold, adding many attorneys
and retaining its original members. Some turnover is inevitable; however,
effective leadership is measured by loyalty, not turnover.
The Right Plan Requires Consistent Client Reporting
Our clients are kept informed of progress at each stage of the
litigation process. Generally, our clients expect significant case
progress to be reported on a monthly basis. When our clients provide
reporting guidelines, we follow them by tailoring our reports to
their guidelines. For our clients without written guidelines, we
have internal reporting formats in place to address each litigation
stage, keeping the client informed from inception to conclusion.
Clients can manage and respond to both good and bad news. What
clients do not tolerate are surprises. Our reporting is consistent
and substantive- our clients receive reports, not surprises.

The Right Plan Requires Proven Technology Without the use of proven technologies, attorneys do not have the
productive capability necessary to solve client problems. We provide
our employees and clients with state-of-the-art, proven technologies
that have a successful track record within the legal community. Our
firm has developed proprietary litigation software uniquely
programmed for our practice areas. As a mid-size
firm, we can easily adapt and implement any technological breakthrough that
enhances productive output to better serve our clients. At Cruser &
Mitchell, LLP, our technology provides a competitive advantage, and
we will continue to maintain our sophisticated computer hardware and
software applications to ensure that we meet our purpose of being
dedicated problem solvers.
The Right Plan Requires Experienced Support Staff Without an experienced support staff, a law firm cannot meet its
productive potential. Most law firms reward their support staff
based on years of service, not productive output. Large firms are
often careful not to reward any one person too much for fear that
demands for similar financial treatment
will be made by the rest.
Top performers are lost over insignificant amounts because of
administrative calls for parity. Since our inception, we have hired
only highly experienced support staff.
PLEDGE
Cruser and Mitchell, LLP attorneys will always pursue their purpose of
being dedicated problem solvers. This purpose will be met
only with an unwavering commitment to our plan:
satisfy our clients by economically and efficiently solving problems with fresh thinking and bold
action.
